I haven’t been writing lately, I talked about it briefly a while ago. My mind is preoccupied. I told a friend today when they asked how I was coping, that I really wasn’t. “All the things that used to bring me joy, that would quiet my mind, bring an aching silence I now fill.” I fill it with rehearsed verses in my head of the things I’ll say if I end up having to defend myself and all we’ve built. I try to go through my days pretending looming things aren’t eating away at me, but they are. I pic
