Premarin is a combination of estrogens, some which activate the estrogen receptor, and others which act like SERMS (Selective Estimrogen Receptor Modulator) which can actually block certain estrogen receptors. It has been shown to reduce the risk of breast cancer by 22% when Premarin was used ALONE (not combined with progesterone). This effect was not seen when progesterone (Provera) was added. It also has not been demonstrated with estradiol (what you get in your patch). #estradiol #estrogen #m
