A “heavily involved” fire sparked by a faulty mini-refrigerator damaged a home on Friday evening, according to the Palm Coast Fire Department.

Neighbors reported hearing the explosion at around 6:30 p.m. The area was still blocked off to traffic just before 8 p.m.

Palm Coast Fire Chief Kyle Berryhill said 21 firefighters responded to the city's F-section to battle the blaze.
