The primer power is only connected to the water extractors, the coal miners for the plant, and a few generators (I found that 3 generators out of the 24 I have online is the magic number).

Or just code turrets and industrial machines to have a "high power requirement" meaning they need a direct connection to the generator, "low power" appliances like lights and fridges can use outlet relays.
Everyone knows the smart battery + coal generator, and everyone's seen massive at least one massive powerplant setup that involves generating some ridiculous wattage number and probably a petroleum boiler that uses a volcano. But it's hard to figure out what is a good halfway step that's easy to set up outside your base and expand.
Nuclear Power can be very complex and for the most part is "optional". A good Turbofuel Power setup can also be complex, is better than using Standard Fuel, and has the advantage of Pioneer not getting irradiated if they make a mistake and Power Production stops. RECOMMENDATION: If Pioneer is in Tier 5 / Tier 6, I would concentrate on a Oil / Standard Fuel Power Generator Complex, and wait ...
Generators don't really generate that much power. If you have a lot of electronics and appliances on your lot, you're probably running out of power before you realise you even had some. Make sure you're storing the excess energy (click the mailbox for bills information), and check each appliance to see if they're allowed to use up energy.
